Homeopathy & Ayurveda merger with Allopathy, IMA protest against the gazette

“No to Crosspathy, No to Mixopathy” banners carried by IMA-affiliated doctors of Cuttack branch in a protest rally on Tuesday against the central government’s gazette notification which was issued in November to merge Homeopathy & Ayurveda with Allopathy.

Dr. Janmajeya Mohapatra, Former secretary, IMA said “Gazette notification of the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) states that Ayurvedic & Homeopathy will be merged with Allopathy. Following a mixopathy and after imparting of 2 years of training to the future medical students, they can conduct surgery in important departments as Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT & Dental.”

He also stated that by this decision, only general public will suffer. Will the leaders who have taken this decision prefer to undergo a surgery under Homeopathic & Ayurvedic surgeons.

He warned that they have decided to close all the private hospitals on December 12 sparing their emergency and Covid-19 services. All the OPD services and routine operations will not be carried out on that day. Future action will be decided by IMA centrally. At any cost we won’t allow this decision by the central government.
